The latest OnePlus ticks the most boxes you can expect from the Android flagship. Highly crafted and made of premium materials (glass front and rear), powered by a high-quality chip (Qualcomm Snapdragon 865), it has RAM oodles and usable storage, supports 5G, and comes with a great camera setup.
There is no doubt that with its 6.55 inch Fluid AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, its 3D Corning Gorilla Glass curved rear, and its Aquamarine Green shade, it makes the OnePlus 8T the phone that hits the most. But the rectangular camera unit gives it a nearly identical look to other flagships out there. Make no mistake - it looks nice and stylish, but it doesn't look as different from the crowd as the OnePlus 7T (and still).
The 8T does not receive an upgraded version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 (865 +) processor, and it sticks to the 865 we saw in the 8 and 8 Pro a few months ago. But that doesn't go back to its strength as one of the best chips around the smartphone. Combined with 8 GB / 128 GB and 12 GB / 256 GB RAM and storage options, and that's also UFS 3.1 storage, and you can be sure that the OnePlus 8T will be one of the fastest devices around, and will handle very well whatever you throw in it.
Speaking of cameras, the Sony IMX 586-megapixel 48-sensor becomes the OnePlus that was the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 in Xiaomi a few years ago. We saw the sensor on the OnePlus 7 Pro last year and made another appearance on the OnePlus 8T, it comes with a 16-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, a 5-megapixel macro sensor, and an amazing 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. Now, the IMX 586 is a sensor that will work well and comes with OIS and EIS, which should make it powerful in the lower video and video category, but there will be those who wish OnePlus to choose a new sensor here, especially given the fact that most segmenters have advanced on IMX 682 and 686. However we will keep our perspective until we see the results released by this camera. The 16-megapixel front camera, however, is a downside to us, especially after the layout of the two Nord cameras.
